  • McPherson Strategies is seeking an Account Executive who can help us drive meaningful results for our clients in the social impact space. We are looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in strategic thinking, possesses exemplary project management skills, and is adept at cultivating media relationships and influencer networks to elevate our clients' visibility.

    Location: While our team operates remotely, we value collaboration and communication. Although our preference is for candidates based in the Northeast, we are open to considering applicants from other locations.

    Responsibilities:

    The role will encompass a diverse range of tasks tailored to individual client needs, including but not limited to:

    • Identifying and seizing opportunities to get clients visibility among target audiences through media placements and influencer engagements.

    • Contributing to strategic communications planning and execution. 

    • Managing implementation of elements of the communications strategy, which may include building media and influencer lists, conducting media and influencer outreach, identifying and pitching relevant conferences and events, drafting op-eds, developing social media campaigns, and more.

    • Active participation in client calls and support account project management.

    • Contributing to new business proposals and firm’s marketing efforts. 

    Key Qualities:

    • A self-starter, proactive attitude

    • At least four years of experience working in communications, with a preference for fast-paced agency experience

    • Effective team and project management skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and numerous assignments

    • Savvy interpersonal skills and ability to manage a diverse set of client and external stakeholder relationships

    • Excellent time management and organizational skills and strong attention to detail

    • Strong writing chops and critical thinking skills

    • Ability to present information in a digestible way

    • A deep curiosity and diligent following of current news events and media platforms

    • Experience and ability to work effectively with a remote team

  • McPherson Strategies is a boutique communications consultancy focused on the intersection of brands and social impact. Our clients include corporations, social businesses, nonprofits, social entrepreneurs and foundations. We specialize in developing, amplifying and communicating social impact initiatives.   

    We’re on the lookout for an Account Coordinator who can help us drive meaningful results for our clients in the social impact space.

    Location: Our team is remote but we’re all about collaboration and communication. Ideally the Northeast but we are open to other locations.

    Responsibilities:

    This will vary account to account, but will include some combination of the following.

    • Support media relations efforts, including developing target lists, drafting pitches and conducting outreach.

    • Track speaking and award opportunities for clients. Develop strategic positioning and prepare submission materials.

    • Discover, vet and pursue strategic opportunities to get clients visibility through media monitoring and social listening.

    • Research targets and prepare prep materials for partnership initiatives.

    • Draft press releases and bylines.

    • Research, track and pursue editorial opportunities.

    • Participate in client and internal calls, taking notes and providing call prep materials as needed.

    • Ensure all client activities and opportunities are captured and tracked in real time.

    • Provide additional administrative and research support as needed.

    You have:

    • At least two years of experience working in communications, with a preference for agency experience

    • A self-starter attitude

    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions, assignments and deadlines

    • Strong writing chops and critical thinking skills

    • Media pitching experience

    • Top-notch research skills and the ability to present information in a digestible way

    We’re on the lookout for a paid intern for the Social Impact Fellowship who can help us drive meaningful results for our clients in the social impact space. The role would require a minimum of 15 hours per week (with the potential for more).

    Location: Our team is remote, but we’re all about communication and collaboration. Most of our team is based in New York, and we also have a presence in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with Account Manager to track deadlines and capture status updates for client activities (events, awards, media, etc.).

    • Conduct thorough research, including vetting potential partners, developing target lists and analyzing industry competitors.

    • Discover, vet and pursue strategic opportunities to get clients visibility.

    • Manage outreach and prepare submission materials for conferences and awards, including drafting topic proposals.

    • Draft social media posts.

    • When possible, participate in client and internal calls, taking notes and providing call prep materials as needed.

    • Provide additional administrative and research support as needed.
