Goals: When abortion bans began sweeping the country, McPherson Strategies orchestrated a response from the corporate community alongside a coalition of reproductive healthcare organizations, including client NARAL Pro-Choice America, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
Results:
187 CEOs and business leaders from companies including Square, H&M, Yelp, Bloomberg, Glossier, Warby Parker, Zoom, M∙A∙C Cosmetics, Postmates, Slack, Ben & Jerry’s and The Body Shop signed a letter that ran as a full-page ad in the New York Times, sending a clear message: you can’t have equality in the workplace if people don’t have access to reproductive health care
An additional 150 CEOs signed onto the letter the following week, increasing the number of signatory companies to 330+ and representing a combined 129,000 employees
Don’t Ban Equality trended nationally on Twitter
Our team led the strategy and messaging for the campaign, conducted outreach, and garnered widespread media coverage, including CNN, CNBC/NBC, ABC, CBS, Univision, USA Today, the Financial Times, Fortune, FastCo and Refinery29, generating an estimated 5 billion impressions
